Week 13 Fantasy Football Preview – Start or Sit?

Start Em’

Eli Manning –
Eli Manning and the New York Giants passing offense really caught fire in week 12 torching the Packers for 249 and 3 scores. It looks like The G-men might be poised for another title run and this match up should keep the good times rolling. The Redskins come in ranked 31st against the pass so the formula is right for Eli Manning to go off in week 13.

Jaquizz Rodgers –
Jaquizz took on a much bigger role last week against the Buccaneers touching the ball 12 times to 79 all purpose yards and a rushing score. Don’t be surprised if Michael “used to be the burner” Turner gets the goal line touches but look for Rodgers to increase his playing time tonight in the Georgia dome. The Saints rank dead last against the run making both running backs more than startable in all formats.

Lance Moore –
Lance Moore historically plays a bit better at home vs. away games. For as Hostile as the Georgia Dome can be, it’s a very similar filed to that which is found in the super dome. A bit of a gut feeling here but I think Lance Moore gets into the end zone tonight in what should be a shoot out. 6 catches for 80 and a touchdown seems doable to me.

Sit Em’

Steven Jackson –
Yes Steven Jackson is coming off a nice game against the Cardinals but the 49er’s are not the Cardinals. The Rams are on the road against one of the league’s top rushing defenses and his foot is bothering him, I’d let the old warhorse sit this one out.

Jeremy Maclin –
The Dallas secondary has done rather well this season and with Desean Jackson landing on injured reserve this week all eyes will be on Jeremy Maclin. He did have a nice game against the Cowboys in week 10 going for 93 yards and a score but that was with Michael Vick and Desean Jackson on the field. Look elsewhere if you can afford to.

Phillip Rivers –
The match up isn’t terrible but it’s not favorable either. Antonio Gates can’t seem to get on track and Malcolm Floyd will probably draw coverage from lockdown corner Leon Hall. These Chargers might be playing catch up but I wouldn’t count on it as a source of fantasy points in week 13. All signs point to benching Philip Rivers unless you have no better options available.
