Tom Brady (NE)
Draftkings - $8,600 Fanduel - $9,200
The Patriots are a motivated football team this year and are certainly setting each stadium on fire as they pass through. This week Tom Brady gets some additional unneeded motivation going up against a team that has cut him short of 2 extra Super bowls in the New York Giants. Motivation of those losses aside the Giants secondary is just awful and the Brady crew should run through them like a buzz saw this week. I see Brady getting multiple teammates involved this week piling up the yards and touchdowns with ease. I know he is on the high end of the pay scale but 350 yards and 3-4 touchdowns is a good way to get your team off the ground in any given week.
Draft kings - $5,200 Fanduel - $6,500
Kirk Cousins’ last two home starts yielded a stat line of 56 of 89 attempts for 607 yards, 4 passing touchdowns and 2 rushing touchdowns. Those are some big time numbers and Kirk’s price this week is inexplicably not a big time number. Those two opponents by the way were Tampa Bay and Philadelphia neither of which is really a good defense but they are nowhere near as bad as the Saints Defense. The score board is going to light up in this game the way Brees is rolling ( I know he’s better at home but still) so expect plenty of Cousins – we may even get one of those surprise amazing games from Desean Jackson, who knows?
Running Backs –
Darren McFadden (DAL)
Draftkings - $4,900 Fanduel - $7,000
I am surprised to even be mentioning his name, but since taking over the starting RB position by default 3 weeks ago ol’ shaky legs McFadden has managed to put up over 300 yards and 3 touchdowns over that stretch. Playing behind an offensive line that is better than any he had seen during his tenure in Oakland sure seems to have revitalized the veteran back and he is making the most of it. The Buccaneers run defense has been pretty solid throughout the year, but they haven’t seen an offensive line quite like the Cowboys for some time now. I see McFadden reaching the 100 yard mark this week on the ground while catching 2-3 passes along with punching in a score.
James Starks (GB)
Draftkings - $4,900 Fanduel - $6,000
Starks was just named the “starter” in Green Bay and deservedly so. The Jelly bean formerly known as Eddie Lacy has shown absolutely nothing so far this season. Bench him with confidence. Starks however warrants serious consideration this week given the match up. Detroit is bottom 5 in total rushing yards allowed and dead last in rushing Touchdowns allowed with 14. This price combined with the this matchup is hard to beat in week 10.
Wide Receivers –
Brandon Lafell (NEP)
Draftkings - $4,100 Fanduel - $6,200
Please see Tom Brady above for reference. Lafell has slowly been working his way back into game shape and has improved each week since his return. Matching up against a struggling Giants secondary is the perfect fuel to start a full on welcome back fire. There are a lot of mouths to feed in the New England offense, but I think Lafell gets his helping early in the 1st half and often. I think he bumps up his output from last week grabbing 6-7 balls for 120 yards and his first score of the season in week 10.
Demaryius Thomas (DEN)
Draftkings - $7,400 Fanduel - $7,900
Great value pick given the caliber of the player involved. Last time DT played Kansas City it was in arrowhead and he hung 116 yards on 8 receptions on the Chief’ secondary. Demaryius put 168 yards on the Green Bay secondary two weeks ago at Mile High. I’d expect similar results this week with a score or two. This is the week Demaryius gets rolling, his price will never be this low again in 2015. The matchup is prime with the Chiefs having given up the 13th most passing yards and the 6th most passing touchdowns. They’ll rank even lower after this week.
Tight Ends –
Jordan Reed (WAS)
Draftkings - $4,600 Fanduel - $5,800
Unless you have been living under a rock we have all seen what can be done to the New Orleans defense through the air. Rob Ryan has that unit working as hard as he does on the treadmill each week (non-existent). In what should be another shootout I see this as being Reeds biggest game of the 2015 season. I see 8-10 receptions for 110 yards and 2 scores out of the young TE this weekend. His cost to potential is so good it’s just too hard to pass up.
Julius Thomas (JAC)
Draftkings - $3,700 Fanduel - $5,400
The Baltimore pass defense is terrible. This is a bit of a gut call but I think the focus is going to be on the Jags stellar receivers leaving Orange Julius to run free. Aside from the obvious names there aren’t a ton of Tight ends I absolutely love but I imagine Julius’ ownership should be low meaning if he hits he’ll be a huge difference maker in your lineup. He’s cheap so If you are looking for a flyer you could do worse.
Cincinnati Defense –
Draftkings - $3,300 Fanduel $5,000
The Houston Texans offense is in shambles and this week they head into Cincinnati to be devoured by a Bengals defense in what should be a rowdy stadium on Monday night. A QB rotation paired with RB by committee is going to face a steep uphill battle that will not end well for the Texans. Turnover is going to be the key word and the Bengals should swallow up 3 to 4 of them. Start them with confidence the week.
Green Bay Defense –
Draftkings - $3,200 Fanduel - $4,900
Detroit is a mess. Repeat, Detroit is a mess. Green Bay has now dropped 2 straight and will likely take out some frustration on this reeling Detroit squad. Once the lead is established expect the Packers defense to pin its ears back. This game screams pick 6, sack/fumble and minimal scoring allowed. In a week with few clear cut options Green Bay could be that high upside squad to separate you from the pack.
