Week 13 DraftKings Picks

11/30/2016

Russell Wilson QB Seattle Seahawks : DraftKings - $6,300
So it boggles my mind a little bit that Wilson is available for such a modest price this week being that he is playing in a primetime matchup on Sunday night, against a reeling Panthers defense, following a loss where they are going to be playing with a chip on their shoulder.  Last week Wilson threw 2 picks (which matches what he threw the rest of the season combined) and had his lowest completion percentage of the season and there is no way either of those things happen this weekend against Carolina. I think that he piles up just under 300 yards with 2-3 scores this week while chipping in about 50 yards on the ground.

Drew Brees QB New Orleans Saints : Draftkings - $7,600
With an over/under sitting right around 54 this should be the fantasy game of the week. The only surefire way to know you’ve got the right piece is to start one of the quarterbacks. Both QB’s spread it around a good bit so spend a little more and take Drew Brees at home. He’ll probably throw 4 TD’s and you’ll be able to enjoy not caring who he throws them to with this investment.

Theo Riddick RB Detroit Lions: DraftKings - $5,800
The Detroit Lions have certainly not emphasized much on the run throughout the year, but that is certainly not by design.  Multiple injuries from the get go have slowed that aspect of their game and I don’t think that will change much in this weeks matchup with the New Orleans Saints. Why am I recommending a Lions back this week you ask?  Well because Theo Riddick is a different style of back more in the mold of Darren Sproles who is an elusive pass catcher out of the backfield. The Lions will have to air it out early and often this week to keep up with the Saints high powered offense and Riddick will be a big part of that from the first snap to the last.  40-45 yards on the ground this week to go along with 5-7 receptions for 55-65 yards and a score are what I see on the horizon.

Jeremy Hill RB Cincinnati Bengals : Draftkings - $4,300
The matchup isn’t great but the price is for the guaranteed touches. Hill proved last week he can be a viable option in the passing game and should continue to dominate touches out the backfield this week. He had 18 touches last week including 6 receptions (don’t forget DK is PPR!) Many will steer clear of Hill after last week’s low rushing total so consider him my contrarian pick of the week.

Sammy Watkins, WR Buffalo Bills: DraftKings - $5,500
There were certainly questions about how explosive Watkins would be when he was able to get back on the field and he answered those pretty quickly last week against the Jacksonville Jaguars hauling in 3 catches for 80 yards on a limited snap count.  This week he gets a week Oakland Raiders secondary and more than likely an increased snap count along with a heavier dose of targets.  The Bills have a pretty balanced offensive attack so Watkins could get quite a bit of room to operate and he should flourish from this.  Add in the fact that they will be in a shootout with the Raiders high powered offense and Watkins could eclipse the 100 yard mark with a score in no time.  Start him with confidence this week.

Julio Jones WR Atlanta Falcons : DraftKings - $8,700
Look I know you don’t need to be told to start Julio Jones but… start Julio Jones! He’s coming off a terrible game but he now faces a terrible defense against San Francisco. This could be a signature monster game for Julio and should prove to be a $8,700 well spent by close of business Sunday.

Vance McDonald, TE San Francisco 49ers : DraftKings - $2,900
I have had a hard time deciding who my value play is this week at the tight end position and against a lowly Bears defense Vance seems to be the one that stands out.  With his daily cost being low and his quarterbacks trust he could easily land himself in the top 5 at the position this week.  60-70 yards on 5-6 receptions with a score is certainly not out of the question and if I can get that kind of return on such a low investment I am taking that all the way to the bank.

C.J. Fiedorowicz TE Houston Texans: DraftKings - $3,800
Green Bay is pretty leaky against opposing tight ends having allowed nearly 800 yards and 61 receptions to the position on the year. Both teams need this win to keep pace in their respective divisions so expect some fire works. The fact that Brock Osweiller can’t see outside the hashmarks lends great confidence in the emerging tight end this week in such a nice match up. This a great place to recoup the funds spent on Brees and Julio.

Denver Broncos Defense: DraftKings - $3,900
Highest cost on the board this week but going up against an awful Jacksonville Jaguars offense that has no running game to speak of.  Von Miller is licking his chops at the idea of running roughshod over the offensive line of Jacksonville and lighting up Blake Bortles.  I see multiple sacks, picks and a defensive TD this week.

New England Patriots Defense: Draftkings - $3,700
I know i lean on the Pats a lot but they just make so much sense! The Rams have shown signs of life but they are coming across the country from sunny L.A. to the bitter north of New England. I expect them to get shutdown Sunday afternoon. With the Browns off this week we’ve got to pick on somebody and the Rams fit the bill.
