Trevor Siemian QB Denver Broncos : DraftKings - $5,200
Really hoping Trevor goes unnoticed this week (despite what my twitter feed would suggest) Thursday nighter, coming off injury, buried way down the list in the $5,000’s maybe his ownership will be moderate despite this juicy matchup. The San Diego Chargers rank in the bottom 5 in passing yards allowed and the bottom 9 in passing touchdowns allowed. Last time Trevor player he lit up the Cincinatti Secondary for 312 and 4 touchdowns. the two defenses are in the same ball park but Cincinnati is generally considered to better than the banged up San Diego defensive backfield. Easy way to save a bundle of your budget without giving up the upside this week! Derek Carr QB Oakland Raiders : Draftkings - $6,500 Carr has had his fair share of growing pains since entering the NFL in 2015, but I am of the belief that he is now reached the matchup proof level in fantasy football. With a reliable receiver like Michael Crabtree and a big play threat like Amari Cooper I just don’t see many teams being able to match up with them. Squaring off with the division rival Kansas City Chiefs this weekend I see Carr wanting to put a statement out to the rest of the division that he and the Raiders are here to play. Just inside of the top 10 in cost this week among Qbs I expect Carr to put up numbers that put him inside of the top 4 in scoring at his position. Lesean McCoy RB Buffalo Bills: DraftKings - $6,900 Shady has been on fire the past 3 weeks posting no less than 20.8 points in any given week. These were all against strong run defenses (Arizona - 29.6, New England - 22.8, L.A. - 20.8) The 49ers defense is far worse than any of these three and they have to travel to Buffalo for this matchup. San Fran is 2nd to last in yards allowed having given up over 146 per game on average. They are also bottom 10 in rushing touchdowns allowed with 5. I expect that number to be 7 or 8 by close of business Sunday. Todd Gurley RB L.A. Rams : Draftkings - $6,700 The Rams have been pretty boring offensively throughout all of 2016 and I don’t expect that to change much over the rest of the year, but this week Gurley gets a Detroit Lions defense that is battered and bruised. Injuries along the line and in the linebacker corps make Gurley an intriguing play for his current cost. I see Gurley outplaying his current value this week and placing among the top 5 in RBs when all is said and done. Doug Baldwin WR Seattle Seahawks: DraftKings - $6,500 the last time Baldwin faced a secondary as bad as Atlanta’s he hung 33 point on them (San Fran, week 3) Get this, Atlanta’s defense is even worse against the pass than San Fran is! They rank int he bottom 6 in yards allowed and are tied for dead last with Detroit in passing touchdowns allowed (14) As an added bonus Atlanta’s offense is red hot even with Julio getting locked down last week so this could be a high scoring affair. Look for Doug to cross the goal line at least once to go along with 3 figure yardage totals. John Brown WR Arizona Cardinals : Draftkings - $4,500 Outside of one game this season Brown has been quite a letdown to most daily and regular fantasy football managers. There were certainly high hopes for a receiving corps that was unstoppable at times in 2015. Going up against a battered New York Jets secondary in week 6 should prove to be a solid stepping stone for Brown and the Cardinals offense. Also, with Malcolm Floyd being non-existent Brown should see a significant number of targets this week. With his current cost being nearly rock bottom lock Brown into your lineup as a great value play and target some studs with that extra cash! Rob Gronkowski TE New England Patriots : DraftKings - $6,700 Any time Gronk isn’t the most expensive TE on the list I’m looking for a reason to plug him. Brady is back and Gronk is healthy, that should be reason enough! Cincinnati isn’t bad against opposing tight ends but they have given up 3 scores in that department. Gronk is $300 less than the weeks top start in Greg Olsen and he’s in sync with Brady. Crazy to say it but this is a little contrarian this week given Bennett’s huge week 5 outing. Jesse James TE Pittsburgh Steelers : Draftkings - $3,000 In week 6 the Steelers draw the lowly Miami Dolphins and the passing attack should be pretty unstoppable from start to finish. While James may be the least flashy player on this high powered Steelers offense it doesn’t take away from the fact that he is a matchup nightmare for Miami at 6’7” and 261 LBs. If the Steelers are stopped or slowed anywhere around the 15 yard line I see 1 or possibly 2 scores going to James this week and at his current price there isn’t much better value than that. New England Patriots Defense: DraftKings - $3,700 I don’t see a glaring must start defense this week so I’m rolling with the Pats Defense 3 week sin a row! They are the best value at $3,200 and aside from AJ Green the Cincinnati offense doesn’t particularly scare me. The game is at home in Foxboro where the Pats are damn near undefeated too. I’m not expecting huge numbers but I could see Jeremy Hill putting the ball on the ground here, no? This is very much a “slow the bleeding” kind of pick. Moderate ceiling, Moderate floor. Pittsburgh Steelers Defense: Draftkings - $3,400 Outside of one poor performance against the Eagles a few weeks back this Steelers group has been its normal hard hitting, blue collar selves. Against a Miami Dolphins team that is currently circling the drain I see them coming up big this week. I wouldn’t be surprised to see some forced fumbles and a pick 6 to go along with Ryan Tannehill being on his back in the dirt multiple times.
