Let’s all sit back, close our eyes and think what the prototypical running back in the NFL looks like. I am willing to bet that not one of us came up with 5’6 tall and 210 lbs. In the same way Maurice Jones-Drew was at one point a top 5 fantasy running back, Rodgers is pushing out that same type of production! In his two starts for the Bucs he has a whopping 56 rushes, which has produced 255 yards. The touchdown production will come soon enough, though it’s not really hurting his RB1 status while Martin sits. What do I say every week? We want consistency every week, and Rodgers is giving that to us! Fire up Rodgers until further notice!
OK, so let’s take away the crazy performance Thursday night. Adams, before Thursday, had 218 yards and 3 touchdowns. Which is only 75 yards shorter than number 2 wide receiver Randall Cobb. Though out-gained yardage wise he caught 2 more touchdowns than Cobb and he missed time due to a concussion. The offense in Green Bay, though struggling some, is still high octane and has that Aaron Rodgers guy throwing the ball around. Adams is a high end wr3 with huge wr2 upside!
Don’t look now, but the Golden one is not done yet! With 22 targets in the past 2 games, he is finally getting the volume everyone thought he would coming into the season. My gut is telling me he is back to being a top target for gunslinger Matthew Stafford and that is great news for owners who were about to give up on him. Who knows, maybe they did already and someone else picked him up (so check your waiver wire!) I will say temper your expectations for touchdowns with 2 out of their next 3 games against the crazy good Minnesota defense. Regardless of the opponent, he is a high end flex play every week.
Since my article is called “Gut Check”, this one is a complete gut call. Edelman has certainly struggled so far this season. Let’s remember, he has only had his buddy Tom Brady tossing him the ball for 3 games. In those three games he has 18 catches which is 1 catch less than he had in the 4 games without him. Edelman is the epitome of a “buy low”. My gut is telling me to go out and trade for him if you can, because his big games are coming, along with touchdowns!
