“Why do I keep listening to these guys, when they are never right?” I hear this question from almost every person I know that plays this crazy thing we call Fantasy Football. My response to this question is always the same, “Believe what you see, trust your gut!” Now this statement may sound too good to be true, and most things that sound too good to be true, usually are. To me the closest thing to an exact science is looking at things through your own eyes. Too often in fantasy football you see people not trusting their own gut and then you end up asking the question I put in the beginning of my rambling! This article is meant to assist players in making decision every week that maybe aren’t talked about as much as they should. Here goes nothing!
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “Jimmy Graham is a superstar, why is he in this article”? Well my fantasy football loving friend, I am going to explain it to you! His 2015 campaign was a dismal one, with getting acclimated to a new offense and injury, it was one to forget! Looking into this season so far, he has 16 catches for 266 yards and a touchdown. Looking at that stat line compared to other tight ends he is right at the top of the list! Just watching him so far this season he has looked healthy and excited to be in this offense! So, the reason he is in this article is the fact that he is owned in 76% and 83% in ESPN and yahoo fantasy leagues respectively. That needs to change, he needs to be 100% owned and started every week going forward!
Most of my articles are going to be about trusting your gut with players that are flying under the radar. Although every now and again I will come across a player that is almost 100% owned and is started consistently every single week. Jackson is that player this week. Now I am not saying to go out right now and drop him, or trade him for a pack of jelly beans, though let’s be honest, jelly beans are awesome! Jackson so far has, 15 receptions for 243 yards and 1 touchdown. 105 of those 243 yards came on 3 catches. My point with Jackson is that he is the definition of boom or bust. Jackson is owned in over 90% of all leagues and that is fine, but does not need to be started like a #2 receiver!
It’s hard to believe, with how terribly the Chicago Bears offense looks on paper, that their rookie running back would make this article. Jordan Howard is now the starting ball carrier for the Bears and if you ask me, he is not letting it go! Jeremy Langford was just awful before he got injured, and for the Bears, why not give the rookie the rock from here on out. They did so today and he looked very impressive. 111 rushing yards and 21 receiving yards, Howard looked every bit of a starting running back in the NFL. Howard is a surefire top 20 running back from this point forward, and he is only owned in 82% and 81% of leagues in yahoo and ESPN leagues respectively. Use your gut here people, believe what your eyes are telling you, he is a great start every week!
